What land is suitable for a solar farm?
It is important to map the subsurface correctly in advance. We do not shy away from any challenge, which is why we also have solar parks on water and at a landfill site. Curious about what else Novar is looking at read on quickly!
What land is suitable for a solar farm?
Almost any surface is suitable for installing a solar farm, we just take a different approach. For example, we build solar parks on dikes, landfill sites, but also on agricultural land.
For example, in March 2018, as one of the first in the Netherlands, built a solar park on Avri's landfill site. built. Here, we took into account the slope of the site and the underlying foil that was not to be affected. Driving piles into the ground was therefore not done in the 'normal' way. In addition, we always investigate the location of the solar park. This sometimes reveals that the location has archaeological value. You can't just go into the ground with a shovel! We then opt for a construction that we place in its entirety on the ground, so as not to damage the subsoil.
Agricultural territory
In land areas that are currently used agriculturally, we always try to achieve a dual function. For example, by allowing sheep to graze under the solar panels. We always keep in mind that our solar park is reversible. In fact, a permit is issued for 25 to 30 years. After this period, we return the site to its original state. We find biodiversity very important so we have that high on our priority list as well.
