This privacy statement contains information about the way in which Novar Nederland B.V. (hereinafter: “we” or “Novar”) processes personal data as part of its business operations. This includes processing of data via our website

For the processing of these data, we are Controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We will process your data with due care and in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including the GDPR.

Personal data that we process

We process personal data on our former, current and potential customers, suppliers and other relations, or their contact persons, as well as on applicants and website visitors. We obtain your data (i) from yourself, (ii) from third parties (such as customers and chain partners) or (iii) from public sources, such as the Chamber of Commerce.

Below is a list of the personal data that we may process:

  • Basic information such as your first name and surname, title, gender.
  • Contact details such as your email address, postal address, telephone number and possibly the company where you work and your job title.
  • Financial information, such as IBAN/bank account number.
  • IP address and statistical details on your use of our website.
  • Personal data you provide when you apply for a job with us, such as a letter of application, CV, date of birth, education and career details.
  • All other personal data we obtain from or about you that we use for the purposes set out below.

Purposes of our personal data processing

Novar processes the above personal data for one or more of the following purposes, depending on our relationship with you:

Marketing and acquisition

We may process your personal data to send newsletters, invitations to online or physical events, and other marketing communication that may be relevant to you.

Performance of an agreement

We process your data in so far as necessary as part of the services provided by us.

Fulfilment of statutory obligations

We process your data in so far as necessary to meet statutory obligations. Depending on our relationship with you, we are required by law to provide information to such parties as the tax authorities, public registers and regulators.

Applications and recruitment

We process the data you share with us if you apply for a job with us (by email/post or via our website or social media) or that we receive from recruiters to contact you for our application procedure and to handle your application. We also process data as part of the organisation of and registrations for our meetings/events.

Access control and camera surveillance

For the sake of security, we monitor who enters our premises. There is camera surveillance in and around Novar’s business premises. The purpose of camera surveillance is to protect the safety of Novar employees and visitors and secure company assets and goods present on the premises.

Use and improvement of our website

We process statistical details on visits to and use of our website. We do this to analyse and improve the content, layout and use of our website.

Other processing activities

We also process your details to handle any questions or complaints.

Legal bases of our personal data processing

We process your personal data on the basis of one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of an agreement with you or to enter into an agreement with you.
  • Fulfilment of statutory obligations.

Sharing your personal data

If the third party with which your data are shared is considered a processor within the meaning of the GDPR, we will, moreover, enter into a processing agreement with this third party.

If necessary, personal data may be transferred to parties outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). When we do this directly ourselves, we will take the measures necessary to comply with this privacy statement and the applicable privacy and other legislation.

Retention periods

We keep your personal data in accordance with the GDPR and specific retention periods under mandatory law. The data are not kept for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data were collected and to comply with statutory obligations.
