On the roof of Moorman Karton's warehouse in Winschoten, a 9,000 m² solar roof has been realized in cooperation with Protium.

Moorman Karton is a company with a lot of history. The company was founded in 1912 where they were first located in the Jordaan area. There the sale of cardboard started. Since then, the headquarters have moved to Weesp. The warehouse is located in Winschoten whose roof has been filled with solar panels by Novar.

There are 2,636 solar panels installed on the roof in an east-west arrangement. These panels provide 883,000 kWp of installed power. That means that is generates sustainable power for over 250 households. The east-west arrangement ensures that the energy is generated in a more widely distributed manner during the day.

How does this solar farm contribute to the energy transition?

2,636 solar panels have been installed on the roof. These generate a capacity of 883,000 kWp and save 395 tons of CO2 emissions annually! A total of 252 households can use the sustainable electricity generated by these panels.
