Novar has realized solar farm Vleddermond in the municipality of Stadskanaal. The farm is located in the industrial area in the south of Stadskanaal. The farm is currently no longer in our possession.
Stadskanaal municipality falls under the Regional Energy Strategy (RES) of the Groningen region. This region aims to generate 5.7 TWh of sustainable energy by 2030. Stadskanaal municipality also aims to be energy-neutral by 2050. To achieve this, it is not enough to only generate solar energy on roofs. Therefore, the municipality has decided to free up 200 hectares for solar farm.

Location of solar farm
The solar farm is located in the industrial area in the south of Stadskanaal. It is close to the Vledderveen industrial park. On the north side of the farm runs the N374 and on the east side runs the N366. South of the site is the Gedempte Vleddermond.
How does this solar farm contribute to the energy transition?
Solar farm Vleddermond generates about 15 MWp, with which it can provide over 4,000 households with green electricity. The farm thus contributes to achieving the Stadskanaal municipality's goal of being energy-neutral by 2050.
