Solar farm Noordscheschut - Hoogeveen

Solar farm Noordscheschut - Hoogeveen falls under the Regional Energy Strategy (RES) Drenthe. This energy region aims to produce at least 3.45 TWh of renewable energy by 2030. Since the solar farm in Hoogeveen has been in operation, it is making a nice contribution to achieving this goal.

The location of the solar farm

The solar park is located east of Hoogeveen, near Noordscheschut. Between the A37 and Coevorderstraatweg there used to be an old trailer park. With the development of solar park Noordscheschut, the site has been given a new purpose. The park was put into operation at the end of 2020 and has been supplying green power to the grid ever since.

Noordscheschut

How does this solar farm contribute to the energy transition?

Zonnepark Noordscheschut in Hoogeveen has an area of about 11.3 hectares. Some 30,000 solar panels have been installed on this surface area. Together, these panels generate enough sustainable energy to provide green power to more than 3,400 households annually! The park is connected to a substation of Rendo and has a capacity of over 12 MWp per year.
