Solar farm Goor - Waterlanden is located in the municipality of Hof van Twente. This municipality is part of the Twente Regional Energy Strategy (RES), which aims to generate 1.5 TWh of renewable energy by 2030. Since its connection in late 2020, this solar farm contributes to achieving this goal.
The solar farm is located northeast of Goor and borders the Heeckeren neighborhood and the Zenkeldamshoek business park. It thus lies between the sports grounds the Mossendam and the N347.
The panels installed at this solar farm are very unique, as they are made especially for this park. Around these panels is a black border. This was a requirement for obtaining the necessary permit, but the environment also preferred these solar panels. The landscaping was also designed together with the environment. A green strip with different types of plants and trees was created around the solar farm, and a "buffer" was kept between the solar farm and the residential area. Besides contributing to the landscaping of the solar farm, this piece of land can be used by local farmers to graze their sheep or cows.
Solar farm Goor - Waterlanden generates sustainable energy that is supplied to residents and businesses of the muncipality Hof van Twente. On an area of almost 14 hectares, more than 26,000 solar panels have been installed. This amount is enough to provide more than 3,000 households with green electricity!
