512Solar panels on the roof

61Households provided

Jarno Schroten from Dalfsen, Overijssel, has his roof full of solar panels. Per year he and his girlfriend and children provide 1.4 million liters of milk! Day and night, 135 cows are milked by two milking robots. Despite the high power consumption, farmer Schroten is self-sufficient in energy. In fact, in addition to the many solar panels, there is also a small wind turbine in the yard.

Due to rising energy costs, solar panels are very advantageous. In addition, Farmer Schroten receives a reward from the dairy. This is in appreciation for the fact that they generate their own green energy. The cooperation between Jarno Schroten and Novar went smoothly and pleasantly. During the development process it turned out that the substructure of the barn had to be reinforced. Enexis also had to install a new transformer. This solved the capacity problems in the electricity immediately.

How does this solar farm contribute to the energy transition?

There are 512 solar panels on this solar roof. This supplies 61 households per year with green electricity. Together with the other solar panels and the wind turbine on the land, farmer Schroten generates even more sustainable energy. Partly because of this, this farm is completely self-sufficient.
