On the roof of the farm at the Höchterweg in Alteveer, Groningen, Novar has realized a solar roof consisting of 1,768 solar panels. This solar roof can generate over 645 MWh of sustainable energy annually and thus contributes significantly to the energy transition. This solar project was realized together with Protium .

During the preparations for the project, Novar and Protium had intensive contact with the owner of the riding school. During these discussions it emerged that the owner would like more light in the riding arena of the riding school. This was eventually solved by installing additional light windows on 2 of the 3 barns. By converting roofs and pieces of land, such as fallow land, into solar power plants, Novar and Protium contribute to the energy goals. Together with the land and roof owners, we provide feasible and realistic business models. Both Novar and Protium strive to make the Netherlands more sustainable and believe in cooperation between parties who pursue this common, sustainable interest. How does this solar farm contribute to the energy transition?

Just under 1,800 panels have been installed on the roof of Stal de Höchter in Alteveer. Together, these solar panels have a capacity of more than 645 MWh. The realization of this project and the commissioning of the solar roof reduces CO² emissions by 387 tons annually! With the generation, more than 180 households can be supplied with green electricity on an annual basis.
