A solar roof of 3,887 solar panels has been installed on the roof of Miedema Bouwmaterialen in Leeuwarden. The solar panels from Trina Solar have a capacity of 310 watt peak each. This brings the total capacity of the system to about 1.2 megawatt peak. Also installed are 15 inverters from Huawei, type 60KTL. Approximately 80% of the generated energy is purchased on site. The installation of the solar roof was carried out by Damstra Installatietechniek B.V.

Miedema Bouwmaterialen specializes in the supply and processing of wood and building products. A total of 3,887 solar panels with a capacity of 310 watt peak each have been installed on an area of about 1.55 hectares.
Realization
The solar roof could officially be taken into use on June 22, 2020. By leasing the solar panels, Miedema Bouwmaterialen has taken a big step in making the company more sustainable without having to make a major investment itself. The company pays a monthly lease fee for the use of the solar panels, thus realizing substantial savings on its electricity bill.
The total capacity of the system is 1.2 megawatt peak, which can provide green power to over 300 households per year. 80% of the total energy generated will be purchased on site.
