Novar has been developing Solar Park Evenreiten for several years. Sustainable Menterwolde and Pure Energie have been working on Zonnepark Noordbroek at the same time for several years. We recently concluded a cooperation agreement with the aim of creating a joint plan. So the two existing plans - Solar Park Evenreiten and Solar Park Noordbroek - are merged, so to speak. The three of us will continue working under the name Zonnepark Noordbroek.

By working together, we can create one cohesive plan. This prevents the possibility of having two solar parks next to each other that look different. Together we can pay much attention to good landscaping and attention to nature - especially field birds. Local ownership, so that a large part of the revenue stays in the area, is also well taken care of through this cooperation.
The planning area is approximately 70 hectares in size. The area where the solar farm is planned is located directly east of the N33 near the village of Noordbroek (Municipality of Midden-Groningen). The plan area lies south of the Pastorieweg and north of the Scheemderweg.
One plan will be made for the solar farm, but it actually consists of two parts: a larger part of Novar and Sustainable Menterwolde and a smaller part of Pure Energie and Sustainable Menterwolde. Because the landscaping will be the same for both parts and one plan will be made for this, it will look like one solar farm. Under the umbrella of that joint plan, however, the aim is to apply for separate environmental permits for both parts.

We have submitted a request in principle for our outline plan to the Municipality of Midden-Groningen. We are in the design phase of the project and are having constructive discussions with the municipality and province about the landscaping of the joint solar park.
Once we have detailed the plan, we can apply to the municipality for an environmental permit for the solar farm. Pure Energie, Novar and Sustainable Menterwolde plan to submit the environmental permit this year. The municipality will then assess the plan and decide whether an environmental permit can be issued.
