Why this solar farm?
Novar is currently busy realizing solar farm Munsterjansdijk in Eibergen. The Regional Energy Strategy (RES) of the Achterhoek region aims to produce 1.35 TWh of sustainable energy by 2030. With this planned solar farm, the Berkelland municipality is making a good contribution to achieving this objective.
The location of the solar farm
The plan area is located on Munsterjansdijk in Eibergen, east of Neede. With the N18 and sports park de Bijenkamp on its south side, it has relatively few nearby neighbors.
What is the added value of this solar farm?
Solar farm Munsterjansdijk is partly surrounded by a mixed deciduous forest. On the south side, parallel to the N18, runs a main watercourse of the water board. In this way the farm has been fitted into the landscape. Also, the construction of this solar farm will attenuate the soil in order to bring nature's potential to fruition sooner.
How can residents participate?
To get direct local residents to participate, Novar launched an action. Through this action, funds were made available to encourage individuals and government agencies to make sustainable investments.
Financing for the solar farm was completed in early February 2023. From then on, Novar has been fully committed to the completion and launch of the farm. Construction of the solar farm started in mid-April 2023!
The project area is 12.5 hectares, of which 9.5 will be used to install nearly 24000 solar panels. With this farm of 12.9 MWp, 3,500 households of renewable energy can be supplied with electricity annually. The generated energy will be delivered back to the grid.
